National and Regional Fora on Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship

Youth unemployment rates are currently very high and the growth rate of the working-age population is greatly exceeding the rate of new job creation. Because of this, and a lack of entrepreneurial tradition in many societies, graduates from Higher Education Institutions are facing severe difficulties in finding quality employment. As a result, enhancing employment opportunities for youth ranks top on governments' policy agendas.

In this context, a "National Forum on Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship" was organised in each of the Central Asian countries in the framework of the UNIWORK project in order to analyse the current situation of youth employment and entrepreneurship in each country, to share success stories in this field, determine the role of University Career Centres in this, and as a result to contribute to national strategies on improving youth employment and promoting entrepreneurship, as well as to stimulate ties between Higher Education and the Enterprise sector. The conclusions of each National Forum will be presented in the "Regional Forum on Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship" to be organised in Bukhara (Uzb) on March 10-11 2016 (more information below).
