In order to consolidate the knowledge acquired during the UNIWORK Training Modules, and to gain more practical experience, a staff member from each Central Asian partner Career Centre has participated in a two-week practical placement in one of the Career Centres from the EU partners.
The first group spent two weeks in Alicante, from October 27th to November 6th, 2015. Partners Lyudmila Maslova from Bishkek Academy of Finance and Economics (Kyrgyzstan), Sulhiya Bahodurova from Khujand Politechnical Institute of Tajik Technical University (Tajikistan), Gulshirin Annadurdyyeva from Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management (Turkmenistan), Nargiza Abduvakhidova from Samarkand State University and Abror Kucharov from Tashkent State University of Economics (Uzbekistan) were welcomed to the University of Alicante by Vice-Rector of Research, Developent and Innovation Amparo Navarro; Lucía Gómis, Director of General Foundation UA (of which the UA’s career centre is a part); Maria Jesús Pastor Llorca, Director of Transfer of Technology and Innovation Secretariat and Josefa Parreño, Director of Office for Student Internships and Support. The visit was hosted by UA’s career service “Gabinete de Iniciativas Para el Empleo” GIPE, and by the UA’s International Project Management Office OGPI.
.
During their visit the UNIWORK partners learnt about the University of Alicante’s career services and entrepreneurship programs (GIPE, Observatorio de Inserción Laboral, FUNDEUN), as well as the UA’s technology transfer service (OTRI) and international mobility services. Visits were organised to the on-campus Science Park and Business Incubator.
.
The partners also learnt about how the UA’s employment and entrepreneurship services collaborate closely with the cities of Alicante and San Vicente del Raspeig, in particular with their youth, employment and entrepreneurship programmes and services. They were able to meet with staff from Alicante City Hall responsible for their Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship programmes as well as from Alicante’s youth centre “Centro14”, with staff from national and local employment agencies in Alicante and San Vicente del Raspeig. Visits were also organised to companies that collaborate closely with the GIPE and regularly take on UA students for paid internships.
.
A special trip was organised so the partners could participate in the Valencian’ Community’s “Día de la Persona Emprendedora” in Valencia, where they were able to meet and talk with young entrepreneurs from the region.
.
News about this visit was published on the University of Alicante's news site, and in local San Vicente newspaper El Raspeig.
