Central Asia Career Centre staff undertook a two week Practical Placement at The University of Sheffield as a part of the activities of Tempus project UNIWORK. The objective of this placement was to consolidate the knowledge gained by the partners during the UNIWORK training modules organised during the past year. The placement took place from 3rd November – 12th November 2015; the first week was hosted by the University of Sheffield Enterprise team and the second by the Careers department.

The visiting partners were Nurgazy Tashiev from Osh Technological University (Kyrgyzstan); Gulia Boobekova from Talas State University (Kyrgyzstan); Olga Shronikova from Kokshetau State University (Kazakhstan) and Gulnabat Gurdova from Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management (Turkmenistan). The visitors were received by partners Gary Wood and Sara Pates together with the USE and Careers teams.

During the visit the partners had the opportunity to learn about how The University of Sheffield promotes and supports employment and entrepreneurship with their students and the systems in place to do this. Through attending various events including careers fairs and networking opportunities the partners were able to share best practice with staff across the Enterprise and Careers departments.
